Pre-Class Checklist
Please complete the following steps prior to your scheduled instructor class to ensure all mandatory prerequisites are met.

- AHA BLS Provider Card: You must hold a current American Heart Association BLS Provider certification before attending the instructor course.
- Personal Professional Resume: Update your resume highlighting any background in healthcare, education, or administrative support, as it will be submitted as part of your official application packet.
2 Class Registration & AHA Portal Setup

Register for the Class: Ensure you officially sign up for your upcoming session.

Register & Update on AHA Atlas: You must create an account on the official American Heart Association directory and complete the required updates before class.
🔗 Access Portal: AHA ATLAS Portal⚠️ Crucial Note: You must use the exact same email address that is attached to your current AHA BLS Provider eCard for the system to recognize your prerequisites.Steps to Register on Atlas:
- Click Sign In/Sign Up in the top right corner.
- Scroll down and click Create an account.
- Fill out your profile details (Name, email, etc.).
- Complete the location pop-up form (Country, language, time zone).
- Under Notification Preferences, make sure to check the box for "Email" so you can receive student rosters and your official instructor card.
- Verify your phone number via the 6-digit text code, accept the terms, and click Submit.

3 Online Training Requirements

Complete the Online Course: Purchase and complete the official self-paced online curriculum.

What it looks like when you purchase the BLS Instructor Essentials Online course on ShopCPR - Print Your Certificate: You must print out the completion certificate from the online course and bring a physical copy to class for entry.
4 Required Materials & Equipment
Students must have access to the following teaching materials and student training equipment. Note that equipment may be borrowed or rented for the course if you do not own it yet.

Adult & Infant Manikins: At least one adult and one infant manikin equipped with a CPR feedback device that meets current AHA requirements. Prestan manikins are highly recommended.
