Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about CPR, BLS or First Aid certification? Here are answers to the questions we hear most. Still not sure? Call us at 480-669-4698 or email info@cprhere.com.

Should I take AHA or Red Cross BLS?

Both are nationally recognized, and CPR Here teaches both. Many hospitals specifically ask for American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, so check with your employer or school first. If they accept either, choose whichever class time works best for you.

Are classes in person?

Yes. Every class includes a hands-on skills session taught in person by a live instructor. We never do the skills portion virtually or with a robot.

What does “blended” BLS mean?

You complete an online portion first, then attend an in-person skills session with an instructor. AHA HeartCode BLS and Red Cross BLS are both offered in blended format.

How long is the class?

Most in-person classes average about 2 hours. The in-person part of Red Cross BLS is a 2-hour class.

How much does BLS certification cost?

AHA HeartCode BLS (blended) is $60, and Red Cross BLS (blended) is $60. You can add First Aid to a CPR/BLS class for $30.

What does BLS cover?

Adult, child and infant CPR, AED use, rescue breathing with a bag-valve mask, choking relief, and teamwork during emergencies.

Who takes BLS and CPR classes at CPR Here?

Nurses and nursing students, ASU students, CNAs, medical assistants, EMTs, dental and pharmacy staff, physical and occupational therapists, caregivers, and parents. We also train behavioral health staff, DDD habilitation and respite workers, and behavior technicians and analysts. Anyone whose employer or school requires CPR or BLS is welcome.

Is the same class used for first-time certification and renewal?

Yes. The same class works for both.

How long is my certification valid?

AHA and Red Cross BLS certifications are valid for 2 years.

Where are classes held?

Our main location is in Tempe at 1438 W Broadway Rd #101, Tempe, AZ 85282. We also hold classes at partner sites in Phoenix and the West Valley. Locations change as we grow, so see the booking page for current locations and times.

Where do I park in Tempe?

Park in the front lot and use the main entrance.

When are classes offered?

Classes run 7 days a week, from 8am to 10pm, including weekdays and weekends. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm.

What should I bring?

A photo ID, and comfortable clothes for kneeling during hands-on practice. For AHA blended BLS, also bring your HeartCode online completion certificate.

Do you offer First Aid?

Yes. You can add First Aid to a CPR/BLS class for $30, or add it on its own if you are already registered.

Do you offer instructor courses?

Yes. We offer both American Heart Association (AHA) and American Red Cross instructor courses, for anyone who wants to teach CPR and BLS. Instructor classes are offered at select locations, so check the booking page.

Do you offer a babysitting class?

Yes. We offer the American Red Cross Babysitting course.

Can you train our staff as a group?

Yes. We offer group and on-site CPR, BLS and First Aid training at your workplace or facility. Call 480-669-4698 or email info@cprhere.com for a quote.

What if I need to reschedule or I’m running late?

Rescheduling at least 3 days before class is free. Rescheduling with less than 3 days’ notice costs $25. You may reschedule once, within 60 days of your original class. Please arrive 15 minutes early, because arriving more than 15 minutes late counts as a no-show. Registrations are non-refundable. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for full details.

Is CPR Here the same as Affordable Healthcare Training?

Yes. CPR Here is the business name of Affordable Healthcare Training LLC, an American Heart Association Training Site and American Red Cross Authorized Provider based in Tempe, Arizona.
